Getting ready to head over to Dave and Patrices to celebrate the 4th of July. Always have such a great time =) Lots of food, friends, and fireworks! Hoping the rain holds off..we are getting the rain from "Alex" :/ but it is filling up the lake so I can't complain.
Just found out yesterday that the club house in our developement is in forclosure and the pool and weight room is CLOSED! "No Trespassing" signs posted everywhere! Not real sure how I am going to survive a Texas summer without the pool, but I guess i'm fixin to find out! We do still have the lake, but I am a pool girl :/ Very dissapointed.
My MN visit is looking like it's not going to happen as I wanted it to, I MAY still be able to come for a bit this month..but I'm not holding my breath. We started our new business "Dairy Fresh Home Delivery" about a month and half ago and well, it's just not taking off as fast as we were hoping, so money is tight right now. I know that everything happens for a reason, so I am just going to be patient and take it a day at a time. I sure miss my family and friends..I really am looking forward to meeting my new little cousin! I know that I will see everyone soon.
Very excited my BFF Andrea is coming to see me!! And my neice Shyenne too hopefully. I LOVE when i get visitors!
I've been helping Sarah with her business when i can, and enjoying the weather the rest of the time. I do love Texas! I just can't go outside after dark in the summer..bugs, spiders, scorpions! EEK!! lol It's been very hot and humid with Hurricane Alex brewing. But it should give us a break in like a week..lets hope! My hair was not meant for humidity! good grief!
Iwent to Dallas for a week to do a show with Sarah~janes. Had a great great time. I really enjoy helping, I LOVE all the bags and everything! I really gotta try not to spend my entire paycheck on all the fun stuff! :/ The week i spent in Dallas my wonderful husband had Dad AND Mom duty..doesn't sound ALL that bad, except!.. Madi had her dance recital, yes I missed my frist one ever =( But Dad came through with flying colors! Hair and make~up looked great! He and Chuck and Jase sat through a 4 hour recital and they ALL survived =) I am so very grateful for a wonderful husband! <3 I am wondering if he'll ever agree to something like that again thogh..lol
Well, time to get gettin. Trying to write more..trying.. :/

Birthday weekend..and week
I had a fabulous birthday, and to think, I wanted to skip this month all together! Biggest reason is ..My baby will be 5 on the 23rd and I don't want him to grow up =( Kindergarten here is all day EVERY DAY! uugghh! How am I supposed to go from having him with me all day every day to him being at school all day every day!?? I guess ima have to figure that one out real soon here.
Anyway, Saturday about 2:00 Patrice came and got the kids for a birthday party and they stayed the night with them, so Darren and I had the night to ourselves, it was weird but so nice. We ended up just having a little camp fire and chatting, enjoying the beautiful night. The next morning about 10 the kidos came home and we just hung around outside, then we decided to go eat at my favorite Mexican restaraunt down the road...no Zac tho, he decided to spend the night at a friends and didn't come home .. after we ate we went down to the lake and walked the bottom, then we saw our neighbors whom took us for a pontoon ride..lotsa fun! We got back home about 630 when I finally saw my son, all he said was "oh,happy birthday, can I eat at Zach's, they invited me for dinner?" Made me sad but I said I don't care, he ended up sleeping over there again =( I didn't see or here from him again till today..WEDNESDAY! I guess I gotta get over it and realize that Mom don't mean crap to a 16 yr old =(
I know i am all over here sorry.
Today, two guys from MN came to ride before the Dallas supercross, Bruce gates and Pat McNamarah(sp?) beautiful day for it! Anyway, they rode with Heath today and with Kent Howerton and his son. The two little one and I and Ryker watched them, we came back to the motorhome and Jase comes down and says "Mom, Travis Pastrana is here!" So we went up to the shop and sure enough! He was here, we got some pictures and autographs..very nice guy.
Anyway, i had a great birthday weekend and rambled on and on..sorry. I hope it makes sense =)

8 months
Well it's been a bit since I have written..sorry. By request of my cousin I have decided to do my best to keep y'all "updated" best I can.
Well, it's been over 8 months of being a Texan and living in our motorhome. We're surviving, but it's a bit squishy. We absolutely LOVE Texas and the Voss family =) They are GREAT to us. Heath treats our kids like they are his..actually he tells them that he is their Dad..lol and Dave and Patrice(Heaths parents) take our kids over night at LEAST twice a month, we really are lucky to have such amazing people in our lives. Heath and Sarah have a little boy that will be 2 next month..I adore that little boy, his name is Ryker Jett and he's a busy little boy, but i just love him. Darren has been working for Dave doing constuction and Heath being his mechanic, they keep him pretty busy. Darren is working on becoming a milkman again, we just had Greg down to letter our milk truck..it looks great! We are excited to try the milk business down here, hoping it goes well. Lets see.. we have met lots of new great people and are so excited to actually get a house built and LIVE in our neighborhood. There are some GREAT people in dancing bear, we were invited to a few parties put on in our neighborhood in the past few months and have made some good friendships.
Halloween in Dancing Bear was neat, a neighbor had a party which included food, a bombfire and a hayride for all to trick or treat! It was a BLAST.
Christmas, there was a progressive party that went from house to house.. appetizers, soup and salad, main entre' and desert all at different houses. another great time getting to know our neighbors.
The Voss' has us over for Thank giving with the "Minnesota family" there were at least 25 of us there. We spent Christmas with Shelly and Kadin =) we all went down to Mission Texas to spend it with Grandma, then the Voss' had a new years party that Greg Fryer came down for. ANOTHER great time..see pictures on my facebook =)
We have been very lucky to have lots of MN visitors, I am SO greatful! I DO get home sick because I miss my friends and family But I am very happy to be a Texan..I DO love it here and hope Minnesotans..or as Texans call us "MinnesoTIANS" keep visiting!
We are planning a trip home in July to visit if all goes well with the milk route.
OH IT SNOWED TODAY!! very very briefly and I am happy that it didn't stay! BBRR I'll keep blogging..promise! =)

My first rattler!

Yes, you read that right! I did see my first rattle snake tonight, fortunately I was inside the truck..but not so fortunately it was about two blocks from our land. ALL of the kids and I had been out and about all day, we saw the movie "Aliens in the Attic" cute cute. Did some shopping and ate at IHOP. We got home about 8:45 and the teens wanted to go to the pool so I brought them up, then Madi Jase and I wanted to get the mail so we drove up and got the mail and on our way back we saw a snake on the road so I stopped, turned on the brights and watched it for a second..it was about 5 feet long, tan in color with about the last 2 1/2 inches striped..the kids wanted me to pull up and let them open their window so they could see it better! I said no and floored it to try to run it over..then I felt guilty! So i backed up and it was gone..not sure if I got it but now I am FREAKED OUT! They say they go the other way if they hear you, but this one didn't until I tried to squish him! I wasn't even sure that it was a rattle snake until I got home and told the neighbor and he said YEP, and then I looked it up online and YEP! OMG! I've talked to people that have been here for 8 years and they have never seen one, I'm here a month and a half and I gotta see one! uugghh! Maybe that Minnesota winter isn't so bad....

just an update..
Three weeks and one day.. and it has reached 100+ everyday! I would still prefer this heat over the -35 of last years winter in Minnesota..but I am getting sick of it being so hot constantly. They tell me that this is the worst it's been EVER.."we set two new records" they say..the earliest it's been this hot for this long and the dryest it's been since like forever. But I guess I would rather be broken in right away..or would i???!! It's nice, beautiful, sunny everyday but we are trying to live in our motor home to save money to build and it gets cramped when you don't really want to go outside cause it's too dang hot. Right now I am sitting here listening to Zac play his playstation..some shoot 'em up war game that is wearing on me FAST! and he has three friends due to fly in to Texas at the end of this month for 12 days! How will I survive?.. I just will, i guess.
So what have we been up to..well, going to the pool alot, i've been working out at the club house almost everyday too =) Other than that, it seems like we really don't do much at all during the week. I find myself wishing the days away actually. We do have some great "neighbors" that we sit out and chat with and have diner with alot, they are staying in their motorhome at Heaths while they build too. They have a 20 year old son that is pretty awesome that Zac hangs with alot, he is teaching him how to play guitar. The weekends are better mostly, This last weekend was a lot of fun, Heaths parents live on the lake and they have a huge party every 4th of July. Lots of fireworks, food, people, FUN! Friday was the party, Met lotsa new people, had lotsa fun. We were invited back on Saturday to grill and take out Travis Pastrana's boat to watch the fireworks..we swam and ate and swam some more but weren't able to get Travis' boat so we took a few other boats and watched the fireworks, very cool..they were EVERY WHERE! SOOO many boats too. Our kids don't usually get to see fireworks because we go camping over the 4th. Madi was scared the first night cause Heath was lighting them and she was afraid he would get hurt, but the second night she and Jase LOVED them. We went in Heaths parents boat with his sister Heather..she's a model, beautiful! Headed home after the fireworks, we were all tired from the night before.
Sunday's we have been going to the "Cowboy Church", it's in a pole barn with out air conditioning, they have a breakfast buffet every Sunday morning. The bathrooms are out houses, you can bring your dog. The band is a country western band, the pastor tells you how it is, he says that if he offends you, your welcome to get up and leave. They have a HUGE ceiling fan, and I mean HUGE! It's gotta have a wing span of like 40 feet! ..they say everything is big in Texas..well they are right! (Including the BUGS!!) I'm having a hard time "adjusting" to the insects here.. I get the willies just thinking about them. You have to shake out your shoes before you put them on in case there might be a centipede or scorpions! Not to mention weird looking spiders like I have never seen before, beetles that are the size of a large June bug, weird lookin snakes that you worry if they are poisonous or not and the damn red ants that bite and it hurts! I am TRYING to adjust, I won't let the bugs scare me away, Texas is amazing, it really is. I have only really seen one scorpion, no centipedes and one snake(at the lake) plus Everyone gets there homes sprayed every three months..someday I will have a house to spray and then i'll be fine! Please come visit, you'll see for yourselves how amazing it is here =)

Our firsts week as Texans
Sunday June 21st..HAPPY FATHERS DAY!
We have officially been here for a week today. The hardest part for me so far was sending my Uncle off, back to Minnesota =( We brought him to the airport Early Monday morning..and by early I mean I had to get up at 4:00 AM! Yickes! But I wouldn't have missed seeing him off..very hard for me. I am soo glad he was able to be here with us, it meant sooo much to me! I wish I could just have one of my friends/family here with me at all times!
This week has consisted of a heck of alot of swimming..every day as a matter of fact. A little exploring and a lot of meeting new people. Although On Tuesday I ithink my husband was trying to kill us all! We rented a storage spot and unloaded the entire Uhaul and then the 24 foot trailer into it..and did I mention it was a HUNDRED degrees! Good greif it was hot! I don't think I have sweat that much in my entire life all combined! Sucked! But then we went up to the pool..aahhh... OK, i'm over it=) Darren started working already on Thursday so the kids and I explored and swam. We found out that We are 20 minutes from Target, Walmart, Chillis, Sonic, Olive Garden, MAURICES!! ..thank you Jesus! Walgreens, Lowes,Great Clips, SOO many places it's great! But yet we are out in the country. I absolutely LOVE it here! =) I miss all of my friends and family and can't wait till you all come and see our new paradise. But I know it is going to work out for us here, Zac met some people around his age at the pool and hung out with them lastnight..he even said he can't wait to start school! That makes me so happy, he was the one I was worried most about..it is so important to me that he liked it here and now that he does a huge weight is lifted! We did have to make our first laundry mat trip..it was ok untill we had to dry our clothes..remember how I said it's been HOT here..well it was hotter in the laundry matt than it was outside! YUCK! ..I'll have my own again someday..
I'll tell you about our day today then I am going to bed... We got up and went to church..not just any old church but "Cowboy Church" It was very neat, they have a breakfast buffett from 9:45-10:15 then church starts at 10:30. It has a band, but not the kind we are used to at New Hope in Minnesota, it's a country band which was pretty neat. During the service the pastor told a Ole and Lena from MINNESOTA joke! I think Darren and I shrank in our chairs! ..lol After church we went to the dollar store right up the road and then to the grocery store to get stuff to make a sald for the diner party/BBQ we were invited to at the lake. Came "home" and made the sald, got our suits and sunscreen on and headed over. Had a GREAT time, swam, rode jet skis, ate and swam some more before we finaly headed home. Had a great day! It's almost midnight..time for bed. I'll post pictures on my Facebook as soon as I can. Night night ya'll!

We have arrived!
Sunday June 14th
.. we get up, make some coffee and decide we would like some McDonalds breakfast..which we had been trying to get for a couple days but soemthing always happened that we couldn't. So Jeff and Zac head down the street on foot to get us breakfast, what seemed like foreever later they come back just laughing..I guess the computers were down at McDonalds and they had to go throught the drivethrough and got all of us breakfast for 10 bucks! It's a funny story..ask them to tell you, they are way bettter at telling it than I am. ANYWAY =).. we finally get on the road heading south to San Antonio about 11:00, stop and get gas at the biggest cluster @#*& of a gas station ever..and it's HOT! On our way again, about 4:00 we turn the corner at the Dancing Bear Cantina and there it is..the amazing georgeous place that we now call home! the Lake to our left is very low but it's still the color of the Caribbean..gorgoeus! through the hills we go..up down till we get to Heaths house..where we will stay untill we build. The gate opens as we pull up..we all pull in and park..we get out and sweat instantly..wowza! It's 100 degrees out! Heath comes pulling up seconds after we park to welcome us. We get parked and situated quick cause Jeff is leaving in the very early morning and we want to show him the place we will now call home. Heath and Ryker..Heath's 1 yr old son.. gave Jeff a tour of the shop, it's amazingly HUGE! Then Heath offers to bring Jeff up in his plane at 7:45 so we try to squeeze in the tour of Dancing Bear..the developement we are going to live in..we show him our lot and the club house with the pool, weight room etc. Then OFF they go on the flying tour =) Madi Jase and I stayed and swam at the pool while Darren, Jeff and Zac went up with Heath. I met a few other people from DAncing Bear, every one was very nice. We met the people that live eaccross t he street from us, the husband and wife are both PA's at the local clinic and they have a 16 year old son. perfect! =) It was a loong day but a great first day in Texas and I think Jeff will come back =) ..still so much to do..Sea World, Schlitterbauns, River Walk, 6 Flags..aka Fiesta Texas =)
